New shop slated for Park Place

The Capital Gazette

Annapolis – Laura Bevilacqua is set to bring her fashion savvy to a new clothing store at Park Place in Annapolis this spring.

Ms. Bevilacqua is slated to open the shop in an 800-square-foot space by May or April. The store would be the first apparel retailer at the $250 million complex.

The store, called Laura Bevilacqua, will carry elegant and classic clothing, including such designer lines as Valentino RED and M Missoni, along with handbags, jewelry and accessories.

“I think the project is a step up above anything else in Annapolis,” Ms. Bevilacqua said. “I think Annapolis is ready for it … (The store is) going to carry merchandise a little step above what’s offered so far in Annapolis.”

Ms. Bevilacqua’s fashion expertise extends way beyond Annapolis.

She was formerly the part-owner of the Diva clothing boutique downtown, and oversaw merchandising for IAM Inc., the owner of eight Benetton stores in the metro Washington area including one in Annapolis.
