Annapolis – Former model Joyce Parker and Eastport pastor Rev. Callie Matthews recently opened the upscale Vizions Art Gallery at the $250 million Park Place development in Annapolis.
The gallery carries art from 125 artists across the country – from a Christian Thirion chandelier and Roman glass jewelry to hand-blown glass designs by Bernard Katz, the owners said.
“Everything in here is handmade and made in the United States,” said Mr. Parker, who grew up in the Clay Street area of Annapolis and went on to become an international fashion model and fashion show producer. “It’s very different, not your traditional kind of gallery.”
Ms. Matthews, who is the senior pastor at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Second Street and also owns the Annapolis Cab Co. with her husband, said she hopes the gallery will become the “destination place for Annapolis.”
“We want to always carry unique pieces that you can’t find anywhere else,” she said.
Ms. Matthews said she expects the gallery to hold a grand opening in about a month.
