Chesapeake Beer Madness: Great Local Brews Meet Great Local Music October 1, 2010- The first annual charity Chesapeake Beer Madness Kick-off explodes onto the scene at Park Place Annapolis on October 1, 2010, from 6-10 pm. Like March Madness, only hoppier!
Beer and music-lovers alike will experience and vote for a bracket of 16 fine Chesapeake area craft beers while enjoying an incredible line-up of local bands, including Justin Trawick, Tobias Russell and Caleb Stine in beautiful Downtown Annapolis. All proceeds from the event will go to the local charities of the What’s Up? Foundation.
Guests will taste 16 great beers and have the option to purchase full glasses of their favorites. Snacks are available for purchase from the wonderful restaurants for Park Place, Carpaccio’s, Azure, Fado’s and the Annapolis Grill. Other highlights of the beer festival include viewing the brand-new Scion, the comfy Chesapeake Cigar Company Cigar Lounge and complimentary chocolatecovered strawberries from Edible Arrangements.
The event kicks off a month-long contest to pick the best craft beer in the Chesapeake area. Though this is the first year for the kick-off event, Chesapeake Beer Madness voting was inaugurated last year, with a very popular winner from the Evolution Brewery in Delmar, DE. This year, voting for the 16 local beers will take place online throughout the month of October and voter choices will be featured in What’s Up? Annapolis and What’s Up? Eastern Shore magazines
Tickets are sure to go fast for this uniquely Chesapeake beer and music event. Space is limited! Regular tickets, including the beer samples and a collectible beer tasting glass, are $20. Designated Drivers get a special discount and free water for $10.
